Valentine Candy Box
Here’s a fun candy box that you can adopt to any occasion! For this particular project, we’ll make something for the upcoming Valentine’s Day!
What you need:
- Cardstock – pink, red, or another Valentine color
- Paper Trimmer
- Round Hole Puncher
- Ribbon
- Candy
Making the Candy Box
Take your cardstock and cut it to 4″x11.” You can measure this with the paper trimmer.
Once it’s cut, make the indicated folds:
- Fold the paper in half so it’s 4″x5.5″.
- Find the midpoints on both ends and folder the triangular flaps like in the illustration below.
- Fold all four flaps (like the photo below).
Once the folds are done, bend them up until you get a triangle box. Holepunch the top two sides. This is where you’ll thread the ribbon through. You may want to fill the box with candy before tying the ribbon!
Decorate the Box
Now you can customize each Valentine box for the person you’re giving it to! Create a character or two out of cardstock and tape it to the front of the box and you have a beautiful Valentine to give away!
Tip: This is just the basics, so let your imagination run wild! You can use this box for any holiday — a witch’s hat for Halloween, a tree for Christmas, cake for Birthdays, etc.
This project was inspired by Mona, a classmate in my Stamping class who made a candy box for our Halloween Card Swap.
