Cricut Create-a-Critter Projects

I’ve had my Cricut Expression Machine for a few months now and I’m finally getting the hang of using it. Its been more heavily used lately every since I purchased the Create-a-Critter Cricut Cartridge. I have to say, it’s absolutely my favorite cartridge yet! I just love animals in simple shapes. I highly recommend it if you love animals! In my opinion, it’s one of the must-have Cricut Cartridges. These particular projects are dedicated to my friend Carla because she inspires me in so many ways and she just loves squirrels!

Thanks to the Cricut, I was able to put together scrap-kits for a workshop I’m teaching. I’m quite excited to show my friends this project.

You can create the projects above too! Here are the items I used, but you can vary things to give it your own personality.

What you’ll Need:

Circut Tips:
The bag template is found in the Plantin Schoolbook Cricut Cartridge. You’ll want to set the size to 5 1/2″ to fit two bags on one 12″x12″ page. You can always input two and hit “Fit to Page” to make it fit the entire page.

The squirrel is found in the Create-a-Critter Cricut Cartridge. You can change the animal to whatever you like. I suggest cutting it in size 2″ so it’d fit in the middle of the bag. For thinner animals (like the caterpillar), you may want to cut at size 3″ instead. Start by cutting out the shadow so you can see how the placement of the character would look like on your project. Then cut out the rest of the layers.

Score the lines for the bag and then fold and adhere the edges. Then embellish the project to your heart’s desire. And viola, you have a cute little treat bag to give gifts in!
