Tweet Card

Time: 15-30 Minutes

What you need:

This is one of the first cards I made with my Cricut, so you know it’s pretty simple! As with any of my projects, feel free to vary your colors and add your own style to it!

I absolutely love DCWV cards because they come in a variety of beautiful patterns and colors with a hint of texture on them. Best of all, they also come with matching envelopes! Buy a box and pick a card you want to use. I use the blue and beige circles on green in the Josephine set for this particular project.

A2 cards are 4.25x 5.5″. So with the beige cardstock, trim a piece that’s 3.25×4.5″. With your corner punch, punch out the four corners of this piece to give it a soft rounded look. This pulls in the theme of the circle backgrounds. With your piece of ribbon, wrap it around this background piece and tape/adhere it in the back.

With your Cricut machine, use the blue cardstock and cut the bird body, and then cut the “tweet” phrase afterward. Be sure to do them separately since you’ll need to press the “Tweet” as a phrase. Cut out the rest of the bird in orange and a different shade. But if you want to go the quick route like I did, I just manually cut out the wing and beak. Then colored in the legs and eye with a black sharpie marker! Finish assembling your birdie and adhere it on the card. Now you have a sweet card anyone would be happy to get!

Note: The Cricut process is all optional. The bird shape is simple enough that you can cut all the pieces by hand.
